2022 marks 35 years of Habitat for Humanity of South Central New Jersey building and preserving affordable housing across Burlington, Mercer, and Atlantic Counties.
Join us at our Virtual 35th Anniversary Luncheon where we will reflect on our organization’s journey, honor those who have helped us get to where we are today, celebrate the growth and change of the families we’ve served, and present our plans to serve even more New Jersians in the next 35 years!

In 1987, while the rest of New Jersey was “Livin on a Prayer,” a small group of dedicated residents set forth on a project with one simple goal, to put their faith into action. Resources were sparse, but the team pushed on with volunteer labor and donated materials to construct new, affordable housing in Burlington County. Little did they know that their selfless act would prove to be the seed that bloomed into Habitat for Humanity of South Central New Jersey today.

Although these nearly 600 projects will not change the world, for the families who built and purchased new homes and those that received home preservation and critical home repair services, a new world has opened up. One of financial stability, of pride, of hope, and of the peace of mind that comes with providing a safe shelter for their family.
As we move into our next 35 years, we’d like to take a moment to thank the tens of thousands of individual volunteers, donors, and supporters that have continued to help us build homes, community, and hope. Through these years, the housing crisis has become even more critical, yet our supporters have made it possible for us to address the ever changing needs of the complex communities we serve and have given us the courage to think bigger and act bolder so that we could grow our impact. Together, we will continue working towards the elimination of substandard housing. Together, we will seek a brighter future for everyone through the power of an affordable place to call home.
