We are incredibly excited to announce that Habitat for Humanity of Burlington and Mercer Counties is among the 220+ Habitats that have been awarded grants from Wells Fargo. This funding is a part of Wells Fargo’s nationwide initiative to help low-to-moderate income families by constructing and improving homes across the country.
Our partnership with Wells Fargo has been strong for many years, from grants to event sponsorships to volunteer days in the ReStore and on the construction site! This level of support, however, has never been seen before and we are endlessly thankful for the Wells Fargo team and their continued belief in the Habitat mission. Together, we’ll build brighter futures for local families in need!
Norma Anderson, local Wells Fargo employee and Habitat Champion shared her thoughts on this grant award, “Far too many people across the country are facing housing instability and one of our key priorities is to create housing affordability solutions where everyone can have a safe and affordable place to call home. We are proud to support Habitat for Humanity in providing homeownership opportunities for hundreds of families nationwide through Wells Fargo Builds.”
Habitat will use the $75,000 to finish construction on 5 homes across Burlington, Mercer, and Atlantic Counties. The funds will ensure that 5 families have safety and comfort in their new homes. In particular, it will support the work on a home in Mays Landing with accessible features, a home in Hainesport for a single mother, a home in Ewing, and a front to back duplex in the historic Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood in Princeton.
Habitat BMC CEO Lori Leonard expresses her thanks for the partnership, “The support that Wells Fargo has provided us will not only keep us building, but truly help local families in need. Over this last year, I continue to be inspired by the families who will own these homes. Their hard work and dedication to building a brighter future for themselves and their families is what drives us to do more, and thanks to Wells Fargo, these homes will be completed soon and families will have much needed safe places to call home.”
