Colonel Bridget V. Gigliotti, Commander of the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and the 87th Air Base Wing, recently made a simple request – to bring a little joy to our service members this holiday season.
There are approximately 300 service members currently in quarantine on base for two weeks, from December 17 – January 6, prior to their overseas deployment. This means no quality time with loved ones, no holiday festivities prior to their departure.
We appreciate the sacrifices these men and women have made, not only through their service, but also their commitment to health and safety. The holiday season is known for gathering with loved ones, and being apart from them during this time for two weeks leading into a deployment is undoubtedly challenging. Which is why when we heard this news, we reached out to our friends at Carrabba’s. The team was more than happy to donate 50 prepared meals and passed the boxes off to our jolly driver and construction manager, Mike T., to make the delivery on base to CMSgt McCoy.
Thank you again to our wonderful community partner, Carrabba’s, for helping us make this experience happen!
